This easy to prepare Indian Fire Bread recipe has been passed down from the aborigines of North America. It’s a quick and easy recipe that is also often referred to as ‘bannock’. What’s good about it is that you can mix and match the ingredients to suit your taste.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Whole wheat flour
1/2 cup All‐purpose flour
2 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp of Garlic salt
2 tsp Dried parsley
2 tbsp Olive oil
1/2 cup Water
Preparation:
Put the bread mix or 1/2 cup whole wheat flour in a packet or Ziplock bag along with the 1/2 cup all‐
purpose flour, and 2 teaspoons baking powder.
Put together the seasoning mix ‐ 1/4 teaspoon of garlic salt and 2 teaspoons dried parsley. You can also
add dried chives, sugar mix, cinnamon, or Parmesan cheese.
Add 1/2 cup of water to the flour mixture and mix well.
Get a portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball, and them flatten it.
On a pre‐heated pan, put a bit of oil and place the flattened mixture, and fry it.
Once cooked, sprinkle the top with the garlic salt and parsley mixture.
