You can bring meat to the outdoors. These days, this should no longer be a problem because there are
canned meats that can be bought from grocery stores. So you don’t have to forget all about meat when
you go backpacking.
Here’s one good example of a meat recipe, Trailside Chicken and Rice. It’s easy to cook and a sure hit!
Ingredients:
1 cup Rice
1/2 package Instant onion soup mix
1/2 package Instant mushroom soup mix
1 can Chicken
Preparation:
In a bag, place 1 cup of rice with half a packet of onion soup mix and half a packet of mushroom soup
mix.
Boil up some water. Add the rice and soup mix quickly in the boiling water, and stir from time to time.
Add some protein like canned chicken (5 oz can) or pouched tuna (optional).
Stir some more until the rice is cooked. Serve.
