Getting Safe Drinking Water is This Easy! I’m Amazed!

Last updated on May 31st, 2016 at 12:15 am

Drinking water is an essential part of life. You can live without food for days, but not without water. For
people who spend time outdoors, particularly for several days, there is a limit to the amount of water
they can bring along.

It is therefore of the utmost importance to know how to purify water from water sources you could find
in the outdoors. Some backpackers would usually use stones/rocks, grass, sand, and charcoal, and place
all of these in a clear plastic container with a hole in the bottom.

Some would usually bring a water purification device to ensure that they have a source of fresh, clean
and safe drinking water. If this device fails, it is always a good idea to bring along a back up for obtaining
safe drinking water.

Here’s an easy to follow guide for a D.I.Y. water purifier using a prescription bottle. Here’s what you
need:

* First on the list is a water bottle or soda cap. It should fit snugly into the prescription bottle.
* A small packet of water purification tablets.
* Standard cotton balls, 2 to 3 pieces.
* Another water bottle/soda cap with holes (you can use a drill bit to make the holes).
* A prescription bottle that has a fairly big hole in the bottom to allow water to pass through.

Directions:

Fit the water bottle/soda cap with holes in the bottom of the prescription bottle.
Next to put in are the cotton balls.
You may now collect water from a river or stream and pour it on the prescription bottle to filter dirt.
After filling your water bottle, take your water purification tablet and put it in the water you have
filtered. Allow it to sit based on the recommended time until it becomes safe drinking water.
